• Dr. Adam Nicholas

    Dr. Adam Nicholas was born in Detroit, Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He obtained his Medical Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed his residency in psychiatry at Wayne State University. Dr. Nicholas has over 10 years of experience practicing psychiatry in the Tri-City area.

    Dr. Nicholas is particularly passionate about providing care for patients with severe mental illness and those in crisis. He began practicing inpatient psychiatry at McLaren Hospital in Bay City, Michigan in 2011 and he continues to provide care for patients at this facility both on the behavioral health unit and also on the medical floor as a part of the consultation liaison service. Dr. Nicholas also assists and supervises in the care of patients at the partial hospitalization program and geriatric psychiatry unit at McLaren Bay Region.

    He currently has the role of chairperson of the psychiatry department and is the current Medical Director of the behavioral health unit at McLaren Bay Region. In addition to his other roles, Dr. Nicholas also supervises medical students and residents on their psychiatry rotations in his role as clinical assistant professor of psychiatry through the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. He was given the physician of the month award at McLaren Bay Region in July 2017 and recently was named a Top Doctor. Dr. Nicholas has been a member of the American Psychiatric Association since 2008.

    He lives with his wife and two children in the Tri-City area. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
